The Nursing Division of the Crawford County General Health District offers the following health screening services, for a nominal fee, however no one is denied service for inability to pay.

Head Checks
Nurses are available from 8—9 AM Monday thru Friday to screen students who have been excluded from school. Hair must be clean and dry to effectively check the head. The health department nurses must adhere to each school policy. Lice shampoo is available for purchase. We currently charge $15 for a head check. We can bill Medicaid for this service.

Blood Pressure Screening
Blood pressure screening is available at any time whenever a nurse is available. Records are kept in our office to monitor for changes. These records may be shared with your family physician for treatment purposes. We currently charge $10 for this service.

Visual Examinations
The nursing staff works with our local Children’s Services Board and Juvenile Court Department to provide basic health screening of children under their care. These screenings are available by appointment. We charge $15 and can bill Medicaid for this service.

HIV/STD Testing
Free, confidential HIV/STD testing is available every 1st & 3rd Tuesday of every month from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at our office (130 N. Walnut St., Bucyrus, OH).  No appointment is needed.
